Sweeps was the sixth episode of the third season. It originally aired on Disney Channel on December 11, 2004.

Plot

The community theatre is putting on their annual show, and this year Raven has been chosen to be the producer. Raven has a vision of people booing the play and leaving the theatre. Raven changes the play to a musical and shortens the title of the play, but again she has the same vision of people booing the play and walking out, so she starts bossing around the play’s cast. The cast decide to call a meeting to discuss how to figure out what to do about Raven, but she walks in on the meeting and says she had a feeling about the play being booed and walked out on, and upsets the whole cast and crew of the play and they all leave.

Raven realizes that she has to cancel the play. However, the theatre’s janitor tells Raven that the play’s been the only thing the community’s been able to count on for thirty-seven years, and she’s going to have to put it on, or she’ll let the whole community down. Raven goes ahead with the play, but now it’s a one-woman show. Then, she figures out why people were leaving in her vision, it’s really confusing. Finally, the cast comes through for her, and they resume their roles.

Trivia

  • Located backstage left, where Victor awaits the fly system cues & where Raven discusses the importance that having an annual play has in the community with the theater's handyman, Murph, several head shots are displayed along the wall. These photos are, in fact, the actual head shots of Anneliese van der Pol (far right, in red), Rondell Sheridan, Kyle Massey, Frankie Ryan Manriquez, & fellow Sweeps.
  • Near the end of the episode when all the children dance around the chimney, you can clearly see that the chimney Raven has on has shoulder straps. If the chimney was supposed to be a prop and not a costume for the play, then why would it have shoulder straps?
  • In the end where Chelsea, Eddie, and the rest of the kids come into the play and are singing, at first Chelsea does not have her hat on but after a few cuts it's suddenly on, appearing out of nowhere.
  • When everyone is having a meeting without Raven and Raven comes in and holes the clip board in some parts, she doesn't have it in her hand anymore but than its magically back
  • The red dress that Raven wears over the chimney wasn't made to fit something huge like the chimney, yet it seems to fit well.
